WHAT?? Okay, thats exactly what I thought too!

I thought I'd dust off my copy and have a few rounds of Worm killing fun. Then I remembered that I couldn't get it to work with Windows 2000, so I figured for sure it wouldn't work with Windows XP. Sure enough, I was right.

I've checked the Worms website off and on for about 2 years for a patch to fix my problems and all this time it's said the same thing: 'A patch may be released at a later date.' Well folks, 2 years later, Team 17 has managed to pull a patch out of their collective behinds and update Worms Armageddon with Windows 2000/XP support. Not only that, it appears they added some new stuff too. The fix list is long, so you'll need to click Read More to see the whole thing.

And before you say it, yes, I realize this game is old, but this is news worthy for those of us who still enjoy a round or two of Worms mayhem once in a while. :)

Fixes/Changes in v3.0.5:

General

• Worms Armageddon now runs under the majority of Windows 2000 and XP Platforms.
• It is now possible to successfully minimise WA in all areas, within the front end and in game.

• Resolution modes up to 1920x1440 are now supported (dependant on hardware capability).
• Fixed crates that sometimes wouldn't fall (even at 100% probability on a crowded terrain).
• Fixed Graves hit from below absorbing Longbow shots.
• Fixed thinning down of some terrain types, occasionally turning solid ground into openings.
• Fixed Worm parachuting and hit by a falling Worm. Previously you lost your turn; now you will simply fall out of the chute.
• Fixed walking off a cliff using Bungee problem, where if a crate was located beneath you the bungee would not activate, sometimes incurring fall damage and loss of turn.
• Fixed ability to change direction while jumping in the same time frame. When time is critical, and your Worm is limited to ground movement only, you may incur many jumps to navigate the landscape. On landing and turning to jump in the opposite direction, it was previously possible to have your direction-change ignored.
• Cow-doubling glitch is currently disabled. We may either re-enable it or turn it into an option.
